Let’s face it, the old-fashioned way of getting people to your church is by word of mouth: the old school! But in this high-tech, fast-paced world, you need an electronic tool to help you spread the word. And one that will work without being expensive. This is where rent-a-list comes into play.

The rent-a-list is a bible initiative designed to reach out to the church-goers with a message. It’s easy to write a list: get a friend who lives in the area to list it for you. They can give a quick call to a list provider and you’ve got a warm lead. Then what do you do with it? Go ahead and drop it off to everyone on your list! So, what did pastor bob do with the rent-a-list that made it work?

Go figure. For one thing, the november was approaching and there were only two people on the rent-a-list that day. So pastor bob went back to his little office in the suburbs and worked on his next marketing strategy: get more names to his list. And he did: there were 20 names on that list, all ready to be rented. Randy, the landlord, had his hands full because that was really one tough sell.

“That was no problem,” says Randy. “I just want to get people to come to my church.” And with that, he had his one point covered: his rent money made it to the bottom line! And if november came, he’d keep it coming.

So, what did he do next? He called his pastor bob, who lived down the street. Pastor bob reassured him that november wouldn’t be a problem for the property owners. That they were always open for walks, BBQ and Christmas parties. And he explained to Randy november didn’t have to come in the next week.

So, when Randy’s november finally arrived, he called his pastor again and this time, no one from the property management company was home. That was when Randy finally told the tenants to go home and prepare to get their rent money. When the rent finally arrived, it went back down to zero because the property had gone into the dry eye of the financial year. So that was the end of that, Randy no longer had a rent check coming in to his mailbox.

So now it was late September or early October and Randy was looking at some financial reports. He noticed something interesting: the income of one of his best piglet sellers was flat. But when he looked up his accounting records, he saw that his gross income had gone up. That meant his profits were also up.

So what had happened? The piglet seller apparently had a hard time selling peaches at the end of July. Then on the 6th of August he called Randy and the two of them had a long chat about Randy’s business and Randy noticed something he didn’t see before. It is a simple faith based explanation for the flat income and profits in the accounting records. But it hit me like a ton of bricks when I read that pastor bob had left his november check with the accounting firm. So in my simple faith based way, the money had gone straight to the pot!

I can’t say I blame Randy or the accounting firm for putting the rent check into the safe and not getting the check out over the weekend so it stayed there. I do feel bad for Bob because he is a good guy and all. Still, I can understand why the rent check got pushed aside and missed as an expense during the week.

So that leaves us with one more question. Why would anyone want to sell a dry-eighthseen rent check? Well there are a lot of reasons but one of the big ones is to build your list and collect email addresses from gay men who like to rent! There are other reasons but I’ll save that for another time.

In closing, you should know that anyone can buy a list of gay people who rent property. You don’t have to be a genius to figure that one out. You should also be able to build your own list, but I think it takes some time. The important thing is to get the rent-mail list that gay people need to stay in touch with each other. So if you need to rent, send a quick email and stay in touch.
